Frequently Asked Questions

01What is the difference between KoolDuct and conventional sheet-metal ducts?

Sheet-metal ducts require a second step of applying insulation after the ductwork is installed. KoolDuct is a pre-insulated phenolic duct where duct and insulation are one, using phenolic foam with thermal conductivity around 0.02 W/mK — less heat loss and faster installation.

02What are the weight and thermal conductivity figures for KoolDuct?

According to Kingspan literature, thermal conductivity is in the 0.02 W/mK class, and the duct is up to 75% lighter than sheet-metal ductwork. Cutting and assembly finish on site, shortening the schedule.

03How does it contribute to LEED certification?

FM approval and environmental product performance contribute to a building’s LEED rating. The phenolic foam has zero ODP. We provide copies of the certificates and test reports you need at design stage.

04How can I receive copies of certificates and test reports?

Leave the document names in the request form and we will send them by email. You can also view certificate and report images directly on the Tech & Certification page.

05Do you provide on-site technical support?

KingsAsia is a technical partner, not just a distributor. From drawing review to on-site technical support and certification documents, we give designers and contractors the answers they need.

06What recognition does the SIDERISE perimeter fire barrier hold?

It holds domestic recognition documents meeting fire-stopping structure requirements, plus a range of international perimeter fire barrier approvals. It passed the quality-control checks and tests required under Korean MOLIT standards.

07Which sites are a good fit for KoolDuct?

It is used across high-rise buildings, pharmaceutical and research facilities, industrial plants, offices, and swimming pools. Tell us your site conditions and we will review how to apply it.

08How do I get a catalogue?

Request one through the document request form and we will email the catalogue after review.
